So today every muscle in my body hurts. I had to shovel the driveway (the steep downward sloping driveway) TWICE!!! Actually my neighbor helped me and that was nice, even though I'm really too out of shape to attempt conversation while shoveling heavy piles of snow.
So that was most of my day, really. I sorted puzzles with the kids that we should have unpacked back in March, and we actually had more pieces than I'd expected. They had fun, anyway, and talked me into another really long game of Cootie Bug after that. So once they got tired of me I got a bit of time for myself and started knitting a cool new hat. It's a pattern I've never tried before but it's a cute hat; now to see whose it will be. See, it's SUPPOSED to be for me, but it might be Romy's once it's done. I've never seen a picture of the lady who designed the thing, but I'm guessing she looks like that guy in the waiting room in "Beetlejuice" with the shrunken head because I followed the "for an extra large hat" instructions and even did a gauge swatch and it's still way too small for my big ol' mega-melon. Thing is I don't actually have a big head or anything (do I?) but this thing is seriously child-sized. >:(
And one more thing before I get back to work here, do any of you know anything about night terrors? Romy's been waking up in a panic every week or two lately and then going back to sleep and having no real memory of it later. If you push her to, she'll say she had a bad dream, but it doesn't seem like she really is. I read an article on the internet about it that said kids her age get night terrors when they're over-tired so I'm trying to get her into bed a little earlier at night. Hoping that's all it is. So anyway, if you know any more than I just mentioned, let me know. It's new to me and I'd like to help her out as much as possible with this.

Your head is perfectly normal. Just because you look like an orange on a toothpick, you shouldnt get a complex! Sleep well tonight on your huge oversized pillow! :) (ok, I'm done having fun there)
Night terrors... yeah, but after my ex and I broke up it didnt happen anymore. Shes not hanging out at your house now, is she?! But seriously, good luck with that. I'll ask around and let you know if I hear anything. Poor kid.
Actually your ex is here right now and she has a few orange-and-toothpick jokes of her own, but I won't repeat them here cause my mom reads this blog. ;)
Yes, indeed.
Mandelyn had them but Marley didn't. I was scared to death the first couple of times.
And then I read a little and decided we were going to be okay.
I would just wake up with her and hold her until she fell back to sleep. She had no memory of them at all.
They didn't last for long. Maybe a couple of weeks.
How are you guys anyway??
I shoveled too. Shoveling should be against the rules. My shoulders are broken now. :D
