Braving the holidays once again

Well, a happy Thanksgiving to all! The girls and I were happy to welcome my parents and longtime family friend Rosemarie for the festivities. Everyone braved my cooking, the girls had a blast, and we had more leftovers than I ever remember having at one time. *whew

And add to those leftovers a few birthday cakes for Polly. Hard to believe she is 7!! Still think of her as a tiny baby even though she's always been a teenager in her own mind. She's been loving all the makeup everyone gave her this year, and she's been trying out some very fancy new hairdos to go with it. Awesome.

Romy's doing great too. She qualified for the school spelling bee this year and is so excited about it. Between that and the Fablehaven books it's nice to have a break from hearing about pokemon stuff for the first time in a few years!

As for me not much going on. Knitting a sweater now that I've finally finished Matteo's crocheted teddy bear and snappy little sweater. Sooo cute! Still haven't tackled Alicia's gloves again even though the weather's definitely turned and she's gently reminded me a few times... oops

Here's a picture of us from the Haunted Salt Lake Tour from last month, by the way. The scariest part of the tour was pretty much the bus trying to maneuver through the Avenues, but we had fun all the same, and it was neat to brush up on some local history.

Going to attempt some sleep now, but thanks for checking in -- I know I've been slacking on my blog duties something fierce. I'll try to get updates on here a bit more regularly but maybe don't hold your breath... just in case.

Love you all, and happy holidays! :)
