Aaaaaaaaahhhhhhhhhh, a moment of silence.

The girls are spending the afternoon with Dane, and so I thought I'd do something terribly exciting. I went to the laundromat. Woo-hoo. See, the new refrigerator came and we now have actual ICE CUBES!! but not so lucky on the washer and dryer. Turns out the hot water leaks really badly and the electric outlet for the dryer doesn't work.

So, hello laundromat. I can't remember the last time I sweated so much, but I got everything clean and managed to read a few chapters in my CSS Layout book. And an added bonus, I picked up a new bookmark. Someone left me a piece of paper with the word "Horse" printed on it. And on the back: "Asiatic Wild Horse." But the best part is they actually LAMINATED it and punched a hole in it for a safety pin. So, since it was at the laundromat and it was sort of limp I'm guessing somebody was wearing it on their clothes and washed it by mistake. Something to ponder....

Oh, and another weird thing before I make the trek down to Utah County to pick up the girls, the landlord left the old refrigerator by the curb and says, as he's getting into his truck, "Throw a FREE sign on that thing, someone will come get it." I was too tired to go all the way down the stairs to smack him upside the head and thought, "Fine, and then I'll call you in a couple days to come haul it off yourself." But you know what? It's gone. Who on earth wants a refrigerator abandoned by the side of the road??? It doesn't even work! I asked Romy to tape the sign on it this morning and she's like "But mom, they're going to be mad when they find out it's broken," and I kind of laughed but now I'm hoping she's wrong and it doesn't mysteriously find its way back home tomorrow. Maybe with a new sign taped to it -- a map to the dump. :)

Yesterday I got us a pool. It's been so hot we could barely stand it so I broke down and picked up a little inflatable kid pool, and we have sort of been living around it all weekend. Yesterday we mostly just put our feet in it since hose water is too cold for full-body submersion, but today it got a real workout, as our lazy Sunday afternoon turned from this:

to THIS!!!!!!

A little on the crazy size, but it was a blast. We're about an hour and a half away from bedtime and the girls are already looking REEEEEEEEEEEEEALLLLY tired.

And as for the beautiful pictures, we have Bryon (my cute new boyfriend pictured below) to thank for those. :D

(That's his "Please don't drop my cool new camera, Romy" face.)

Welcome to Park Street!

I know nobody believes me anymore but I'm back at the blogging thing again.

I've been toying very seriously with the idea of deleting this old blog and starting a new one for the reason that this one is a bit depressing, watching my marriage slowly swirl down the toilet from entry to entry. But it seems weird to pretend none of that happened, so on we go.

Since I wrote last we sold the house and moved -- Dane to Provo, and the girls and I to Orem. The apartment in Orem was nice, but there were ... issues ... with the upstairs neighbor, and my job was no longer paying the bills, so SURPRISE!! Here we are in Salt Lake.

We live in the upstairs apartment of the building pictured above, and it's been sort of a bumpy move -- issues with some of the major appliances and me still scrambling for a new job -- but we all love it here and will get things sorted out soon enough.
